Grilled Barbecue Chicken and Vegetables in Foil

Grilled Barbecue Chicken and Vegetables in Foil – Tender, flavorful chicken covered in sweet barbecue sauce and cooked on the grill inside foil packs with zucchini, bell peppers and asparagus.

Why, yes, I seriously AM showing you how to drench chicken in barbecue sauce, stick it in a foil-pack and grill it! It all started with FFWD…
Besides, if it wasn’t for foil-pack dinners, we wouldn’t survive. Okay, kidding! But still. It’s a good story.

SO! Hiiii, you guyyyyys! How are you? All is well? GOOD!

In this corner over here it’s a little past midnight, I’m chomping on Wheat Thins – reduced fat – and talking to you!

Why am I up this late, working?

Beeeecause… I went for a run on the treadmill at 10 pm and now I am friggin’ wired! I can’t fall asleep. I can’t even sit still. I could literally go for a Tarjay-run right this minute, if only Tarjay was open this late.

By the way, I’m also starving, and looking at this delicious grilled barbecue chicken is not helping. I could eat a horse. I won’t. But I could.

I occasionally pride myself on being able to throw together somewhat creative and delicious meals including chicken – which is something that someone must do when their only reason for not going vegetarian IS grilled chicken – and adding things like tons of sweet-with-heat barbecue sauce is something I could inhale day after day.

Come to think of it, we can never get enough of this. You just can’t stop taking, bite after bite… By the end of they day?!? Only crumbs remain. Seriously awesome chicken… seriously.

I’m a very fun girl, I promise.

Okay so, the chicken and veggies are really incredible. I enjoy this more than the Italian Chicken I made for you last year. This is packed with enough flavor that I’d MAYBE consider eating it without the barbecue sauce. I’m lying.

The real winner here IS the bbq sauce! AND I want to slather it on everything humanly possible.

JACK DANIEL’S GRILLED STEAK RECIPE

Jack Daniel’s Grilled Steak Recipe – New York Strip Steaks marinated in one of the most delicious marinades made with Jack Daniel’s Whiskey and Soy Sauce. Our favorite steak house meal made at home!

I’m SO on the BBQ/Grilling bandwagon right now and I couldn’t be happier!

But, HI! Happy Friday! I’m heading to the mall in a bit to stock up on new threads (Yellow Dot Sale! HOLLA!), but not before I tell you about this Jack Daniel’s situation here.

That grilled steak right there? That sweet whiskey flavored grilled steak basically sums it all up. It is my life right now. No further comment.

May is National Barbecue Month and there’s no better way to celebrate the beginning of summer than heading outdoors for a cookout with family and friends. Grilling is one of our favorite pastimes during the summer months, and besides, I prefer cooking-out over eating-out any day. Hand in hand with my trusted buddy, Kingsford’s Professional Charcoal, nothing gets in the way of me and my backyard grill.

Back in the day, I was super scared of grilling over fire because… well… fire. But now? It has to be -40 degrees outside for me to ditch the charcoal and opt for an Oven Grilled Steak.

Do you know one of the keys to perfecting a steakhouse steak is the high heat and quick grill time? Yep, that’s what I hear, and that is the truth! Those two things help to lock in the delicious juicy flavors, and Kingsford Professional Charcoal is an easy to use product that produces that high heat which is necessary for steakhouse style dishes, such as our Jack Daniel’s Grilled Steak that is before you.

The number one thing I love about this recipe? Spending about five minutes of hands on time and eventually walking out to the backyard with a gorgeously saucy platter of steaks and throwing them on the charcoal grill, like so.

But seriously, the five minute thing? We’re basically combining whiskey with soy sauce plus a tablespoon of dijon mustard. Doesn’t that sound amazing?! Personally? I LOVE IT!

You do have to have a tiny bit of planning ahead because it marinates the night before, or at least 4 hours before, but just try to find a steak recipe that’s as delicious and as simple to prepare.

One thing about this Jack Daniel’s Grilled Steak: must. eat. now. Treat yo’self because, it is a super awesome, great tasting steak featuring bold flavors, perfect for incorporating into summer cooking.

With Memorial Day creeping up around the corner, go pick up a bag of Kingsford Professional Charcoal, a few New York Strip Steaks, and light up that grill. Also? Use the hashtag #KingsfordProfessional across all your social channels so I can see what you’re making!

Master Forearm Stand With This Little Trick

If standing on your head has become easy for you, it's time to move on to a more challenging inversion — the Forearm Stand. This pose has a lot to do with shoulder and upper back strength, but it's also about engaging your core muscles. If you try kicking up with two legs at a time the momentum of both legs going up often makes you topple over. So here's a simple approach to help you find your balance.

Begin on your hands and knees. Lower onto your forearms. To measure how far apart your arms need to be, grab a hold of opposite elbows with your hands (so your forearms are parallel with the front of your mat). Now straighten your arms so your fingers are facing away from you, creating a straight line between your elbows, forearms, and middle fingers. Try to keep your arms parallel, and don't let your elbows slide out to the sides (or you'll end up doing a face-plant).
Walk your feet as close as you can toward your head and gaze between your hands — not at your feet.

Now lift your right leg straight up. Stay here or work on taking little hops. Do this by bending your left knee slightly, and popping off the ball of your left foot. Keep your right leg lifted and work on holding your legs in split position (see above photo).
Once you've found your balance, you can work on scissoring your legs together. Tucking your tailbone and your ribs in will help you stay stable. Work your way up to holding for five breaths.
Lower your feet and practice kicking up with your left leg.
Release onto your hands and knees and come into Child's Pose to rest.
If you're feeling very unstable and nervous about working on Forearm Stand, try this yoga sequence to help build the strong upper body and core, as well as open shoulders and hamstrings you need for this inversion.
